1/60 SV-51γ Nora's Unit Part 8

Troublesome flexibility

My review on Yamato's 1/60 SV-51γ Nora's Unit continues with a separate component of the figure, but its importance is just as great as the design of the transformation gimmick and the details painted in my opinion. It's the part that will allow the figure to have more flexibility in posing, and to show more details on different sections of the figure without having my hands to get in the way :D

It's the display base. ^^

Parts for the display base occupy the entire second tray of the content. All 8 parts inclusive of the base.

The base is a little smaller than that of PG Strike Rouge, or the same one used by MG Ex-S Gundam.

Three connectors to mount the different modes of the figure to the display base.

Three parts for the joint, and as you can see from the teeth inside the two connectors, the joint doesn't rotate at all. ^^; You need to swap the parts to adjust for the angle of display that you wanted.

As troublesome as the joint on the display stands for several MGs that are also using part-swapping method to change the angle of display, but the one for this figure is much more flexible as it has more positions to adjust for.

The third part for the joint is the button to hide the connector. I didn't close it fully so that it's much easier to take out later.
A lesson I learned from those MG display stands built in the past. ^^;

Just a very modest display base it is.

5 slots to adjust the height of the display stand.

Connector for the Fighter Mode. 4 holes on the thigh and hip (turbine jet engines) to accommodate the part.

The bad thing about the connector is how the tabs are fixed and that you have to forcefully split the jet engines apart to fit the connectors into their designated slots.

The connector has perfectly designed space to accommodate the Gunpod beneath the fighter. ^^

With the display base, now SV-51γ Nora's Unit can really have a feel of soaring in mid air.

Connector for the Gerwalk mode. 2 tabs to attach to the thigh, the first 2 used by the Fighter mode just now.
The connector has a protruding extension in front of the part to support the nose of the fighter.

With the stand, there are more rooms for the legs to be more expressive in this Gerwalk mode.

Connector for the Battroid mode is to be pinned to the bottom of the hip.

The most flexible form to pose with the display base.

I like the stand very much. It's simple in design but is very sturdy. Any of the three modes sitting on the connector stays firmly on top, without any sign of swaying, or the joint starting to loosen like one of my Action Display Base 1s. ^^; I would say this is definitely the right display base to display SV-51γ Nora's Unit.

The inability for the joint to turn to the left and right is a drawback, but the figure is quite tall and heavy, so I think it's better to make sure that it gets mounted to the base firmly instead of having it posed in an imbalance way tilted to the left or right. With that in mind, I didn't really miss that feature as much as I wished for it in the first place.

Also, for an expensive figure such as this one, safety above fancy is the way to go really ^^
