Revoltech Fraulein Soryu Asuka Langley Part 1

Inconsistent luck

Introduction on another red Revoltech Fraulein in my collection, other than Yoko Movie Ver. is Soryu Asuka Langley.

Released back in 2008, the name is still from the anime series, the most recent movie seems to change Asuka's last name from Soryu to Shikinami. As a matter of fact, as printed on the display base, "this" Asuka is from the anime, not the movie, even though "Evangelion: 1.0 You Are (Not) Alone" was out already when this Revoltech Fraulein was released. Also, I think the change of her last name only occurred in the second movie.

As compared to Yoko Movie Ver., Asuka's articulation is much better in my opinion. The absence of loose joint for her shoulder is a great relief to me already, which shows that perhaps Yoko is an sad exception of poor shoulder joint in the overall Fraulein series. Such inconsistency in quality control is something Kaiyodo should look out for.

Anyway, I'm glad that Asuka turns out to be quite a nice action figure. ^^ Very underrated one may say. ^^

The same type of book-like packaging.

Accessories shown at the bottom on the back of the box.
A lot less parts as compared to Yoko. ^^;

Paper wrapper introducing the other three first releases from the Fraulein series.

Promotional leaflet of new releases from the Yamaguchi series attached on the plastic tray can be seen immediately when the box is opened.

Preview on various new releases from the Yamaguchi series (at that time) inside the leaflet.

Front view of the content.

All the accessories are placed on the tray itself, only parts of the display stand are sealed inside a plastic packages bound to the back of the tray.

It's still Soryu not Shikinami. ^^

Asuka's accessories include a Pallet Rifle, a doll, a pair of clutched fist, a pair of hand units to hold the Pallet Rifle and one right hand unit with a pointed index finger. Not sure why the list is so short, but price is a factor I suppose. Asuka is 2,300 Yen while Yoko is 200 Yen more expensive. The other two Fraulein figures I have, Pocco is 2,600 Yen while Yuki is 2,800 Yen (all prices are inclusive of tax).

More images of this Revoltech Fraulein in the next review. ^^
