Introduction on S.I.C. Kamen Rider Gaoh's joint design in this review.
As compared to the first S.I.C. I have, Kamen Rider Blade, there are very few gokin (die-cast) parts for Kamen Rider Gaoh. His wrist band, henshin device in the middle of the belt and the armor on the leg are made of die-cast parts, and of course the joints, which are internal are made of metal as well. While Kamen Rider Blade has die-cast parts for these few areas, they are a lot thicker and heavier, especially the forearm and leg armors. You can really feel the heaviness of that figure.
While some might feel disappointed over the lack of die-cast parts on Kamen Rider Gaoh - I know some people like the feel of the figure when it's labeled as "gokin". ^^ I don't really mind about it at all. The exquisite details and the size of the armors already established Kamen Rider Gaoh as a rather heavily armored figure, so the feel is there. The more important point however, is that being a top heavy figure (thanks to the armors as well ^^;), adding more external die-cast parts would just make the figure weak in balance and unable to perform a lot of action poses. So, for me, no many die-cast parts isn't really an issue for me there.
The head can't really bend upwards because of the back of the helmet, but bending it to the front and turning it sideways is not a problem at all.
Waist can bend sideways.
Shoulder armors move up and down on a hinge joint and are non-removable.
Movement of the shoulder is somewhat limited there because of the shoulder armors.
Elbow can bend for a wide angle.
No armor on the side of the thigh allows the legs to spread wider for better balance control. ^^
Knee can bend pretty widely.
An extra joint on the foot - a feature on all S.I.C. releases I think?
The cover of the thigh can be opened to remove the metallic orange "tablet" inside.
