Transformers Movie 2 Leader Class Optimus Prime Part 3

"I'll take you all on!"

As mentioned in the previous posting, the "return" of a few joints that were absent in the first Leader Class release of Optimus Prime really boosts the range of articulation this action figure has, allowing plenty of action poses that were disappointingly not possible with the first release. On top of that, the weapon included is the heat blade, a melee combat type weapon. I can't imagine how one can do that weapon justice if the figure can't move as well. ^^;

The heat blade on the action figure is obviously just an orange part with glossy finish, but the design is actually quite accurate to the pair as seen in the movie.

Just needs more colors and to be sharpened it seems. ^^

Speaking of which, the best battle scene from the movie that this Leader Class figure can depict in my opinion is the 1-on-3 jungle fight, where Prime takes on Megatron, Starscream and Grindor.

Video clip is from Youtube. Follow this link to the website if you can't see anything.

Considering that Prime is dead for the most part of the movie after the jungle fight, this seems to be the only scene for this action figure. ^^; The finale against Megatron and the Fallen is an upgraded Optimus Prime with Jetfire's parts with new weapons.

It's also noteworthy to point out that there were another 3 versions of Leader Class Optimus Prime released from the two major fights he was involved in in the movie: Takara release with buster cannon from the factory fight leading up to the jungle scene, Hasbro release with battle hook from the jungle scene and Takara's bundled set of Prime and Jetfire for easy combination for the final fight. Along with Bumblebee, Prime is definitely one of if not the most important characters for merchandise release. ^^

Optimus Prime Kick! Just as how the first release could do it. ^^

Powerful ratchet joint of the hip and sturdy ball-type joint of the ankle give great support to the figure to hold that kicking pose ^^

Can kneel as well?!

Holding up with his right knee armor there XD
Still an interesting point and an improvement over the first release nonetheless. ^^

Transformation to the vehicle mode coming up in the next posting. ^^

I still want the buster version. too bad there's not a version with interchangeable parts for the hooks,cannons,and swords. That would've been amazing.probably a premium priced figure,but still very worth it.^^

you need a jetfire to complete the look. LOL
