HGUC Kampfer Part 3

Need more gray, need more yellow

Focusing on the detailing of just the leg parts of HGUC Kampfer after starting off with the kit's chain mine and upper body in the previous posting. ^^

Detailing done for the main right leg parts.

The side thruster nozzle was painted with multiple layers of yellow paint using Mr. Color 109 Character Yellow. The excess yellow paint on the edge of the nozzle was scratched away using a knife after the work, before the details were panel lined.

All the exposed areas beneath the right leg, spread out on the three parts were painted using Mr. Gundam Color UG09 MS Gray Zeon.

Like the side thruster, excess gray paint on the edge of the three parts was scratched away using a knife after the paint work, before the minor molded details were panel lined.

Identical yellow paint application for the thigh, calf and sole thrusters.
The paint work and detailing of the one-piece sole part was perhaps the most difficult in the entire kit due to its thruster nozzle's position. ^^;

The nozzle itself was painted using Mr. Gundam Color UG09 MS Gray Zeon. The line details were done using a combination of normal panel liner and
Tamiya's Panel Line Accent Color (Black).

Not as difficult as those shown above, several of the remaining right leg parts still featured varying degree of paint work requirement. ^^

(Left) The split that sits between the front and rear foot section (all molded as a one-piece part) was painted using Mr. Gundam Color UG09 MS Gray Zeon.
(Right) The exposed section beneath the thigh thruster cover was painted gray to reflect that it's part of the leg's mecha component instead of its armor.

(Left) The straight border between the left and right thigh parts were painted black using normal marker to emphasize the gaps' existence.
(Right) Tamiya's Panel Line Accent Color (Black) was used to detail the tabs behind the knee cover.

A little bit of extra paint work: the protruding round buttons on the knee joint part were painted gold using Tamiya Color Enamel Paint X-12 Gold Leaf.

The detailing method used on the right leg parts was duplicated to all the parts of the other leg.

All the painted thrusters.

Gray paint work for the thruster on the sole part.

Gray paint work for the bottom area of the leg parts.

Extra golden detailing for the knee joint part.

Done with the body and leg parts, extensive yellow paint work was no longer needed for this HGUC kit, but quite a bit of gray was still needed for the arm parts' detailing, to be covered in the next posting. ^^
