RG 1/144 Gundam RX-78-2 Part 6

Small head, even smaller details

The last part of the work on Real Grade 1/144 scale Gundam RX-78-2 after the previous posting, with only the shoulder armors and head remaining. ^^

Detailing on the shoulder armor parts.

The top covers were done using normal panel liner, rather easily I should add. ^^

Not sure how much of them would show up on the completed model, the minor molded details beneath the top covers were panel lined using Tamiya's Panel Line Accent Color (Black).

Minute details on some of the smaller parts of the shoulder armors.

Tiny vent details were panel lined using Tamiya's panel liner solution.

Panel lining for the head parts.

Rather simple panel lining for the top part of the helmet.

Delicate teeth-like details beneath the visor area are a highlight of the helmet. ^^
I would normally paint the area black to reflect its depth, but the line details are obviously much more interesting to reveal through panel lining instead of covering them up with black paint. ^^

The rear side of the V-fin has some interesting pattern that is revealed through panel lining as well.

The sections on the red face part were quite a challenge to panel line due to the part's size, and the lack of any solid molded line for either Tamiya's Panel Line Accent Color (Black) to catch on, or a stable surface for the details to be drawn using a normal panel liner.

The smaller face plate and the red part are temporarily assembled onto the inner frame to give them a solid support while pending for the panel liner's paint to dry.

Originally a clear part, the entire eye part is painted black to form its base color.
Having black as the base color makes the part slightly easier to see for the final assembly in my opinion.

With the base color painted, the two separate eye sticker pieces from the Realistic Decal sheet can be used instead. ^^

With that, the work on RG 1/144 Gundam RX-78-2 is completed. As usual, there'll be a bit of offset time between now and when I revisit all the parts again for the final assembly. ^^

In terms of the review, the number of photo may have been reduced (even though it wasn't something I planned for ^^;), I think I still covered enough details to explain all the work involved for all the components of the kit, even though some of the steps may seem a lot simpler due to the lack of photos. There are going to be other reviews that would have to be done this way due to the same data loss problem, but I'm still considering whether to actually use this method in my other future reviews. ^^
