Transformers: Prime Robots In Disguise Decepticon Rumble Part 2

Bright and fierce

More images of "Transformers: Prime" Robots In Disguise Decepticon Rumble in vehicle mode after the introduction in the previous posting. ^^

A look at Rumble's weapons, a pair of pile drivers:

Not purely pile drivers, the hammer face on each of them is molded with cannon or missile-like details that allows the parts to be used as hand-held projectile-type weapons.

Closeups on the details.

As you can see, the handles are actually not set in the middle on the pile drivers' back end. The offset positioning is to accommodate the bulk of the forearms (in robot mode) that the pile drivers are designated for when they are pegged into the hands. ^^
A clearer look at the handles' application will be featured after Rumble's transformation in another posting. ^^

Even though there's neither connection point nor instruction on combining the pile drivers - I don't think the function was ever intended ^^, the weapons can be connected by simply plugging the hammer of one of the pile drivers into the rear end of the other one. ^^
The two parts are connected only via their grip on one another, but it's firm. ^^

A pretty cool-looking combined cannon for Rumble. ^^

There's a 5mm port beneath each hammer's front end, even though there's no other weapon that can be used to be attached to it.

With its handle, the other pile driver can be pegged into the port highlighted above, but the handle is too long for the combined component to look convincing enough as a double-barreled cannon of some sort. ^^;

The hollow slot on either rear fender "disguising" as the fuel cap can be used to hold the pile driver in vehicle mode.

Thanks to the offset positioning of the handles as mentioned earlier on, you can choose between two different looks for the pile drivers when mounting them onto Rumble.
With them sitting below the windows, the pile drivers looks more integrated with the hatchback's body.

A weaponized Rumble in vehicle mode. ^^

When the pile drivers from the above configuration have their sides switched, the weapons sit above the windows, giving them a more obvious appearance on the vehicle mode.

By rotating the pile drivers to the back, the weapons can be turned into a pair of auxiliary boosters. ^^

Extra speed for Rumble! ^^

The simple straight peg swivel allows the cannons/missile launchers' position to be individually adjusted.

As weapons or boosters, the pile drivers provide some "posability" to Rumble in vehicle mode. ^^

Comparison with other car-type Transformers figures from my collection:

With Transformers United Rodimus Prime and "Transformers: Prime - Beast Hunters" Deluxe Class Bumblebee in vehicle mode.

In robot mode.

With the pair of cannons/pile drivers equipped to its size, the vehicle mode can be a little silly-looking, ^^; but if they are adjusted to be seen as additional boosters as shown above, the silliness seems to have a sliver of awesomeness in it as well. ^^

Without the cannons/pile drivers/boosters, Rumble as a hatchback is actually a really interesting Transformers figure. ^^ Its bright, glossy cyan for the entire car is outstanding enough, having clear red for its windshield and windows gives it an aggressive look that doesn't seem to match the car's size. ^^ I almost feel that the bright colors prevent some of the vehicle mode's own molded details to be seen completely. ^^ While they are not exactly amazing to begin with, car details like the grille, front bumper, wipers, rims, tire tracks, fuel cap, spoilers and so on can be seen on Rumble, and they are well done enough to add a sense of realism to the vehicle mode, even though the red windshield seems too outrageous for Rumble to be seen as an actual car. ^^

On the other hand, throughout the whole review, I felt really tempted to call the vehicle mode 'cute', as that's the first descriptor that came to my mind when I first saw the figure years ago. ^^ Due to its colors, size, and that special 'cute' look, Rumble in vehicle mode looks like a great figure for display on my desktop ^^ - It's not going to take up too much space, but is going to be easily noticeable. ^^

Moving on to Rumble's transformation next. ^^
