HMM Zoids 1/72 Red Horn Part 6

Not hydraulic pipes? No matter, all the pipes still need to be shiny

Continuing with the painting and detailing on Kotobukiya's HMM Zoids 1/72 Red Horn after the previous posting: ^^

Another round of gray paint work on various maroon parts not done in the previous posting, with the tail parts being the focus this time but with additional body parts added as well.

One of the sunken areas on top the tail cannot be seen clearly, but its vent details similar to those on the other parts "qualifies" the part to be painted gray I suppose. XD

The interior of the stout cannon should be painted gray as well.

New set of optional paint work: all the mesh pipes from various components are going to be painted with gold and metallic black. ^^

Looking at the model's color guide in the manual, the pipes' details are not emphasized at all it seems. ^^;

Pipes connecting the vents to the back of the legs are to be painted gold and silver. ^^

Tiny hook behind each front foot is to be painted silver.

The magazines of the tail mounted-AEZ 20mm Beam Guns are going to be painted with metallic black, even though they are supposed to be in dark gray according to the color guide.
Metallic black would be a good color to set it apart from the other parts already painted in that color.

The spring-like part connecting the tail to a small skid beneath it is going to be painted gold and silver.

A set of connector rings on the side body panels to be painted gold are on the panels already painted gray in the previous posting.

(Left) The pipe arc behind the frill is going to be painted gold and silver to make them stand out.
(Right) The pipe can be seen clearly behind the frill, so having a different color for it can really set it apart from the rest of the mechanical details.
Image is from Dalong.

Fixed pipes on the body frame parts are going to be painted gold and silver as well.

The rest of the tail parts with lots of molded details are detailed using Tamiya's Panel Line Accent Color (Black).

The elaborate mesh pipe details on the top body parts are going to be detailed to make them more clearly visible.

The details are panel lined using Tamiya's Panel Line Accent Color (Black) first.

As with the one-piece AEZ 20mm Beam Guns.

Getting the set of targeted maroon parts to be painted.

Painted the parts using Gaia Color 074 Neutral Gray IV.

Closeups on the painted details.

The selected parts with pipes details are panel lined first before the paint work.

Parts to be painted gold will go first.

The targeted parts are painted using Gaia Metallic Color No. 122 Star Bright Gold.

Closeups on the painted parts.

The start of more bling-bling to appear on my Red Horns. ^^

More painting and detailing on this HMM Zoids kit coming up in the next posting. ^^
